The Lived Experience Training Fund is a restricted fund that provides compensation, honorarium and/or stipends to people with lived experience who are invited to co-create and/or deliver training materials that strengthen our organization, staff and volunteers.

Contributions to this restricted fund will be used specifically for CASA of Bristol County to provide:
- 35 hours of pre-service training curriculum 2-3 times a year.
- Bring in speakers and staff support to host bi-monthly continuing education opportunities in person and virtual for volunteers to meet their requirement of completing at least 12 hours of continuing education per year.
- Resources to support a swearing in ceremony for newly appointed volunteers and guests from the community.
Many people have the skills, passion and time to be a CASA volunteer advocate however they have a barrier(s) to volunteering that your contribution could help them overcome. Contributions to this restricted fund will be used for volunteer advocates to request support for: Supplementing their income if they have to take a day off work to go to court for a child’s case they are appointed to Overcoming transportation barriers to visit the child they are appointed to and/or to attend court through bus passes, lyft, uber Financial support for child care if a volunteer advocate needs to go to court for a child’s case.
Contributions to this restricted fund will ensure that children and families have the access to verbal and/or written translation services to be able to communicate effectively with a CASA volunteer advocate.

Gifts to CASA of Bristol County can be a meaningful way to commemorate a loved one or to celebrate a personal milestone while making a difference to children experiencing foster care.
Click on ‘Make a Tribute Gift’ to choose which type of tribute card to send, personalize the card and provide the address where the card should be mailed. We will send the card out 5-7 business days after your donation is made. If you would like the card delivered by a certain date, please allow about 2 weeks for processing and mailing.

Examples include: Tickets to events and experiences in the Bristol County area for youth to use with their CASA volunteer. As part of the 35 hours of pre-service training, volunteers attend at least 2 days of in person training on Saturdays from 9am - 4pm. In kind donations will help us provide meals and snacks to trainees. Meals and snacks include: coffee, tea, water, seltzer, snacks such as granola bars, breakfast and/or lunch from local cafes.
